Welcome to the website of the European Documentation Centre of the University of Vienna!
European Documentation Centres support education and research on EU integration.
- They arrange contacts to (inter)national bodies with EU relevance and organize events.
- They offer tools, workshops and special libraries to make literature searches easier and more transparent.
- They provide a selection of documents on European affairs and encourage the academic community to engage in the debate on the future of the EU.
In short: EDCs function simultaneously as libraries, archives and information centers for EU-specific topics.
There are nine such EDCs in Austria (out of about 350 EU-wide), with the one at the University of Vienna - founded by Ignaz Seidl-Hohenveldern - being the oldest.
